Build a thriving family. Parent with confidence. We can show you how.

"You have such a wealth of experience and knowledge about single parents.  I always know that whenever I have a challenge or question, that you instinctively know how to encourage me to handle it or figure out the best direction for me to take."
--Tina

Testimonials about The Bridge Across and Jayna

This program finally convinced my husband and I who needed to handle the discipline issues with our children as stepparent and parent.  It always caused great amounts of conflict for us as individuals and

as a couple.  I knew intuitively that this change needed to occur, but when we learned more about how stepfamilies are different from traditional families, and how to resolve some of these issues, we were

able to agree. There really are no negatives associated with the program.  It's "user-friendly." This class

is definitely worth it if only for the reading materials and exercises alone. If a couple is committed to

doing the work, then the material can be an excellent guide to a more harmonious course of

couplehood and family.

Gail

You have life experiences that are out of the norm that you have been able to work through, to the benefit of your family.  You are creating a happy, successful marriage and happy, successful children, though it is hard work every day.  Thank you for everything you have taught me.

Ellen

Divorce is an entirely unexpected experience for me, and more than a bit bewildering.  With so much emotion involved, its nice to have someone like Jayna who has both real world experience and credibility, and very pragmatic suggestions to handle the thorny situations.

Ben

Sometimes all of us build up or look at our difficulties as an elephant that is way too big to conquer or overcome so we decide we just cannot deal with it.  This program tends to provide a fork and knife so that a couple can begin to eat the elephant one bite at a time. The program works because it provides a wealth of good tools through which Step families can actually cross over to become families. You really should not be doing this just for your wife, more importantly you should be doing this to make a better you.

Neel

Jayna, you are so empathetic and understanding.  I love it that you are "in the know" -- up-to-date on latest teachings and philosophies in various fields and endeavors.  You are also know “who to know”- either knowing or having access to great resources in various fields (doctors, psychologists, clergy, attorneys, etc.) Eydie

I have enjoyed listening to other couples as we communicate during our telephone sessions.  I believe it has been good for my husband and I to hear the issues of others being in a Step Family situation.  I have been through many of the same issues that they are going through.  It has opened my mind and heart to let our children know that their opinions and feelings are very important to us.  We both are planning to sit down with each of the four adult children to get their input of their feelings in order to establish a better relationship with one another.

Jayna’s life experience including family, business, personal growth, etc. is amazing.  Her ability to communicate, her passion and her commitment to process and growth make her a great coach.

Alan

We get so caught up in the day to day issues about he said/she said or your kids/my kids that we forget about our family. How to create "our" family is what all of us are looking for... You can’t do it yourself. And sometimes, having a different way to do it is good. The main thing is that you have to go outside of the situation to resolve the patterns. This is a good, safe harbor (and non- judgmental) to resolve some issues and get answers to your questions.
Walter

Your marriage is worth the time and effort to do the program. It is convenient. He can write it down on his calendar and make a point to call in from wherever he may be. You will learn better communication skills and possibly information that needs to be addressed. Your children will be blessed because there are ways to coach and educate you as a couple to withstand from doing damage to your children. I believe that the program has so much to offer and I would encourage any couple to say YES – Just do it!
Janice

For the last five years, Mike and Jayna Haney have been presenters in a class we facilitate at Frist pres for engaged couples called Looking Toward Marriage.  Mike and Jayna share -with enthusiasm and humor- principles and techniques for making a marriage last. They emphasize the importance of applying biblical principles in marriage and of being intentional in relationships. Their winsome presentation is always a highlight of the course.  Claudia and Alan Stewart.

I would like to take a minute to say you have been a great help to me over these last 6 months. Just having someone to talk to who understands and doesn't just tell me to "get over it".  You have helped me to understand my daughter better, and you have helped me to be able to step back and not get so caught up in her problems.

Paula

After talking through my situation with you and fellow stepmothers, I felt relieved in that it is okay for me to not feel guilty in creating boundaries in my home and that I am not responsible for my husband's happiness with his child.  I also learned to disengage and not feel guilty about the consequences.  I also feel much happier in my home and especially in my relationship with my husband.

Jennifer

You infuse the coaching session with integrity, compassion, warmth and a gentle strength.

"Mike and Jayna Haney have been key leaders in the single parent ministry of First Presbyterian Church for years.  Their life experience and study make them uniquely qualified to minister to single parents."  - Rev. Howard Griffin

Jayna is thoughtful, introspective, and very cognitive of intricate interpersonal issues. She cares about people and feelings, is joyful in her life with family, and eager to share this joy.  She takes time to think about people and their perspectives and issues and cares enough to share those thoughts. She has a big, good heart and a caring, loving soul.

Ann

You have such a wealth of experience and knowledge about single parents.  I always know that whenever I have a challenge or question, that you instinctively know how to encourage me to handle it or figure out the best direction for me to take.  Tina

This program helped by helping my husband to see that rules and structure are good for a child. He definitely gained from the sessions that you had with him and he is following through with it, which is so amazing!  It was a big goal and I'm glad it was reached.

Laura

I feel the program has given me the tools to reconnect with my wife and my children!

I have always felt an incredible amount of love for them, I just didn't have the communication skills for these most important relationships. I am more consistent with my message and am better able to communicate love to my family members. I am a more confident leader of the family and it has had a definite impact us as a unit"
