Dr. Wanda Draper, Ph.D.
Internationally recognized consultant, author and teacher, Wanda Draper is a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatryand Behaviorial Sciences in the College of Medicine, University of Oklahoma. She also taught at the college, preschool, elementary and secondary levels. She founded the Early Childhood Development Center affiliated with the OU Health Sciences Center for 12 years. For 8 years, she served as Co-Director of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center in the OU Department of Psychiatry. She served as President of Education Futures International for 15 years, and for 17 years, Director of the Oklahoma Child and Family Institute. Consultancies include public and private education as well as court consultation and expert testimony in capital trial, child custody, abuse and neglect. She is a developmental consultant for private clients. She has authored numerous books, audios, videos and articles. Examples include: Living and Working with Children, Your Child is Smarter Than You Think, Parent-Child Relationships, Talking with Children About Death, Talking with Children About Divorce, and many others. Some have been published in The International Encyclopedia of Research and Education. She has appeared on television, radio, and in newspaper and magazine articles. Internationally, she has provided consultations and seminars. A native of South Texas, she received her degrees from Texas Woman's University, with additional studies at Harvard University and the International Center for Genetic Epistemology, Geneva, Switzerland.
