How Do I Know That This Is The Right Step For Me?
Are you aware that changes are needed?
Do you have a desire to change?
Are you willing to take action to make the changes?
If you answer YES to all these questions, then you are ready for our programs.
Finding resources is the biggest issue among stepfamilies and single parents. However, the resources won’t help you, if you don’t take action to utilize them.
Experience an immediate sense of relief and confidence that you are closer to where you want to be in your family just by contacting us.
I’m in a stepfamily, but my partner doesn’t want to participate. What do I do?
All of our programs can be done by one person instead of by the couple. You don’t need your partner to learn about stepfamilies and to help yourself. Sometimes, just changing the way you do things can make a huge impact on your partner. If they see that it works for you, they will be more willing to try it. Don’t let your partner keep you from helping yourself.
I’ve done several programs and professionals, and they didn’t work. Why should I try yours?
If you have done other kinds of programs, then it is even more important to do ours.
Don’t let other ineffective programs and professionals keep you from trying ours. Many times stepfamilies and single parents get tired of looking at “one more program” or person that promises great things that doesn’t deliver. But we do deliver, and we guarantee it.
Many programs that adults try are general programs and not based on the single parent or stepfamily. Our programs are and will be more successful for you.
What do you do? Is this counseling?
We provide:
Personal Programs
The Bridge Across has step by step, powerful programs that give you the strategies and solutions you need to create and manage your family.
We did our homework. I searched high and low for the best stepfamily and single parent programs out there. There aren’t many.
But I found this wonderful program about the 21st Century Family- addressing both stepfamilies and single parent families by the Stepfamily Foundation, and was amazed at how comprehensive it was.
Coaching-
Rather than a counseling diagnosis, we believe that stepfamilies and single parent families need new tools and new skills to be successful in their life.
Coaching is NOT therapy or psychological counseling. It’s a support system that provides you with a coach who
- understands exactly what you are going through,
- provides a third party viewpoint that is not emotionally involved
- gives you insight and education about the issues where you need help
- creates big shifts in thinking
- helps you move toward your goals of meeting challenges created by single parent or stepfamily life.
We do respect the therapeutic approach. If you are in therapy, our program will support and compliment your work.
Education-
Studies show that desire and education is what people need to make their relationships work. You can learn how to have a thriving stepfamily or single parent family.
Resources-
Who to contact and how to find experts is a big part of your success. You need stepfamily resources for stepfamilies and single parent resources for single parents.
How are you different than other marriage programs or stepfamily programs?
Most programs also provide you with general concepts but none of them give you the extensive and specific education, actual daily management skills, and powerful fieldwork tools that are so necessary to truly creating a family that really works in stepfamily or single parent life. Ours do.
Our 6 Week Stepfamily Program designed by The Stepfamily Foundation is a one-of-a-kind program with an 84% success rate! I looked at every stepfamily book and program out there. There was no doubt that this program’s ability to clearly lay out what effectively works for stepfamilies daily as well as long term is amazing!
Our 6 Week Single Parent Program that I adapted from the above Stepfamily Foundation program provides the same kind of day to day management for families that have loss and conflict as a foundation. Parents need to know how to manage their families as well as provide emotional support and tools for themselves and their children.
My years of real life experiences and working with many successfully give us a uniquely qualified perspective.
Most marital and family programs and professionals are based on the biological family, which is very different from the stepfamily or single parent family. Because of this, most of them don’t work for your family. By the time many find us, they have tried a number of “professional” programs that haven’t worked.
As well as general concepts and dynamics of these families, you will also learn how to live happily in a complicated life or strategize for even the thorniest family issues.
Who are your clients:
Anyone that is involved in a single parent stepfamily, or complicated family.
Where and how are services done?
Most programs are done by phone. It means there is no travel time for the client, and calls can be done when convenient. You can take the call in the privacy of your home and/or office.
When individual or couples do our programs, they can each be at their home or office or they can sit together and use the speaker phone.
The phone does provide a focus that is very effective. And I have been specifically trained to work with clients on the phone as well as in person.
If you live in Houston, and want to meet in person, please let me know.
How do I pay?
The programs are priced in various ranges to meet every need and be affordable. Payments can be made in several ways depending upon the program. All major credit cards as well as e-checks are accepted.
Is this confidential?
Yes. All sessions and materials are confidential.
